OKAY, looks like there's been some confusion. I just want to clear things up, my canon material is NOT affected by this.
Hetherev is a totally different deal where artists dump their OCs into a fantasy world and watch them scramble. I'm resetting my Hetherev storyline. This has no impact on my own material. Gale and Stacy aren't going anywhere (except in Hetherev). Jacky's still Herman's baboo, so on and so forth.
That's right! I am officially rebooting my Heth characters. Some of them have been removed, and others are just being 'reset'.
What does that mean?
It means I'm going to start over. I'm going to redo my challenges from the beginning and they will be different than they were before. I don't have a plan, except to have fun.
But I'm working on something that features ______!
If you did something or are working on something that includes one of my babies, CARRY ON MY FRIEND. I will work with you on whatever continuity errors this causes (yes, even on characters I have removed!).
Why did you do this?
I've been going through a rough spell for the last three+ years. I still am! It made me feel unmotivated. Heth is about to start pumping out some new and interesting things to get the community on its feet again. I'd like to be a part of that, but I felt I couldn't before because I had backed myself into an odd place with my old challenges.

Yeah, I’m aware that someone is copying my art pretty hard. I'd just like it to be known I'm not associated with it or okay with it. I don't mind when someone references my art to learn to draw noses or takes some inspiration. That’s how we learn and there’s nothing wrong with it. The situation I’m referencing is significant and continuous, and goes to an extreme most people never would. I've messaged them about it and they're blocked. No witch hunts, that's not what I'm here for. It's just become clear me that I can't ignore it. **I need to add that I've already sought advice from more experienced artists on how to deal with this. I appreciate it but no further advice is really needed.
Stored a bunch of art.
The N/F/T theft is turning into a daily chore to report, so I stored all art I could find that included characters that aren't mine (except for one or two people). To my knowledge none of that art has been reposted. The rest I'm undecided about.

Answering a question I got today- Edit: This barely answers the question I got. I went off on a tangent. Sorry about that. I did take art classes as a kid. I was lucky enough to have a private tutor, and I am very glad I had that experience. I appreciate the man who spent that time with me and gave me confidence. Without him I don't know if I would have enjoyed art as much as I have. He will always be one of my favorite people and I wish I had told him that when he was alive. He taught me the basics and some tips and tricks of traditional media, but the most influential thing he did for me was put me in a mindset where I would be willing to take constructive criticism from other people. I haven't had college classes. I would love to take them, I think I would benefit a lot. But most of what I apply to art I learned from books, admiring art that I enjoy (like comic books) and being around other artists. MOSTLY THE LAST THING. Just gonna... yeah. I haven't gotten any yet but I don't even keep up with DA notes. I will never respond to a deviantart live chat and have them muted. It's nothing personal and I enjoy chatting with people as a rule, but live chat on a setting like this isn't for me. Edit: I don't care that it is exists. Live chat is not for me on most platforms as a personal preference and if I can't disable it I make a note of my habits so no one feels personally ignored if they send me a message and don't get one back.

I use Heth mostly when I feel stuck with canon stuff and it's not right to make it a source of frustration instead of a source of inspiration.
As for the entry I planned with Gale - to be honest I've been sitting on that idea for so long I needed to rethink it, and I felt guilty writing Gale out because you took all that time to discuss the possible entry with me, and now I can do pretty much anything again! I'm really glad you had the guts to do this honestly, I've been walking around thinking "but what if I don't use Gale in the second challenge... would GreekCeltic be hurt by that?" for a while now. I still think Gale is awesome, and I hope we'll get to do something Heth-related together eventually but hey, fresh starts are a good thing, for both of us!
